The Chance Foundation - We Are Together was established on January 10, 1992. Although formally co-founded by Altix sp. z o.o., its initiators were Marek Kalbarczyk and Jacek Kwapisz, in cooperation with Igor Busłowicz. Jacek Kwapisz served as the first president of the Board until October 1992, after which the role was assumed by Marek Kalbarczyk, who headed the Foundation until 2019 and returned to the position in 2023. Malwina Wysocka-Dziuba served as President from 2019 to 2023.
For more than three decades of activity, the Chance Foundation - We Are Together has achieved numerous successes, pursuing ambitious goals that have contributed to strengthening the belief in proficiency, both of its founders and employees. The foundation's mission is to promote the idea of an open world, accessible to people with visual disabilities and other socially marginalized groups.
In our activities, we focus on promoting a modern model of rehabilitation, using technology to replace vision through other senses, such as hearing and touch. Our initiatives, such as the international conference REHA FOR THE BLIND IN POLAND, the running of the Institute for the Rehabilitation of the Blind, and the publication of the monthly magazine “Help - we are together” are evidence of our mission and effectiveness.
Thanks to the Foundation's efforts, our representatives have won many prestigious awards and honors, including the medal “20 Years of Support Systems for the Disabled,” the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, and many other awards from the presidents of Poland and local authorities.
We carry out numerous projects, such as training for teachers, organizing competitions, international assistance, and running Tyflobus - mobile rehabilitation center. We also don't forget about demonstrations and literary contests to draw attention to the problems of visually impaired people.
Our outstanding collaborators, including Marta Zielińska of Laski, Jacek Kwapisz, Prof. Jadwiga Kuczyńska-Kwapisz, Prof. Witold Kondracki, Dr. Bogdan Wyślicki, Janusz Skowron, Prof. Leonora Bużańska, Igor Busłowicz, Janusz Mirowski, Sylwester Peryt, Ilona Nawankiewicz, Ewa Bąk, Marek Kalbarczyk and many others, have made enormous contributions to the development and activities of the Foundation.
