Besides the central office in Warsaw, the Chance Foundation - We Are Together operates a network of 16 regional offices, located in the capitals of all voivodeships in Poland. Regional offices are places where blind and visually impaired individuals, their families, and caregivers can receive specialized advice and support.
In these consultation points, our specialists offer assistance in selecting modern rehabilitation equipment and provide support in obtaining grants for specialized devices. People using our services can benefit from Braille monitors, speech synthesizers, electronic magnifiers, as well as everyday devices such as talking watches, thermometers, scales, and blood pressure monitors for better accessibility.
We aim for every person with a visual impairment to fully participate in social, educational, and professional life. Therefore, in addition to basic counseling, selected regional offices also organize training and workshops that help individuals find employment or even start their own businesses.
We invite you to visit our regional offices, where we provide assistance not only to blind individuals but also to their caregivers, teachers, volunteers, and representatives of institutions supporting people with disabilities.
Institute of Rehabilitation of the Blind
In 2011, the Chance Foundation - We Are Together established the Institute of Rehabilitation of the Blind, whose main task is to conduct research and substantive work on the rehabilitation of visually impaired individuals. Initially operating virtually, the Institute relied mainly on volunteer work. In 2022, the Institute moved to a new location at 4a Dzika Street in Warsaw, allowing for the employment of permanent staff.
The Institute of Rehabilitation of the Blind boasts numerous successes, including the development of innovative concepts, projects, publications, and initiatives. Among them is the International Mobility Conference, an international conference organized in May 2023. The meeting gathered around 280 participants from around the world, including scientists and specialists in the rehabilitation of blind and visually impaired individuals, as well as in spatial orientation and independent city mobility.
The Institute continues its mission of developing and disseminating knowledge aimed at improving the quality of life for people with visual impairments. Our research and development of rehabilitation methods contribute to increasing the independence and self-reliance of our beneficiaries.
